Since the trade of Donovan Mcnabb to the Redskins, there has been a quarterback competition between the Eagles' Michael Vick and Kevin Kolb. Vick is now entering his second season off his suspension for dog fighting allegations. Andy Reid, the coach of the Eagles has finally permitted Michael Vick the start for the team, but some fans feel Kolb could start much more efficiently. Your decision is up to you, but lets give history a check and line their stats up. 2010 has sparked an important question among Eagles fans, "Who should our Quarterback be"?
The first aspect we will look at is overall performance at quarterback throughout their careers. In his 7 NFL seasons up to now, Vick had passed for a total of 11591 yards; these actually aren’t half bad numbers (considering he was a running quarterback in the past and rushed for 3954 yards in that same space of time). Kolb spent 3 years with the Eagles up until this point, and had only passed for 885 yards collectively in those seasons. We can’t underestimate Kolb based on this, entirely on the fact he was always in Mcnabb's shadow. (No his rushing performance is nothing to be mentioned). Before we entirely massacre Kolb on stats, he plays with ice in his veins during the playoffs than Vick.
Touchdowns are an important aspect to the game, as well as interceptions because each gives you a quarterback’s efficiency level of getting the ball into the end zone. Kolb is an improving project on these factors, and in the times within Mcnabb’s shadow, he threw for 4 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Vick on the other hand, throughout the time of his career before 2010 threw for only 72 touchdowns, matched by a higher 52 interceptions. To add Vick has a career accuracy rating of 54% whilst Kolb has one of roughly 57.3%. Vick is getting older, and he cant over-rely on his running power anymore; it'll be interesting to see how his cannon can improve. Either quarterback can be used in terms of arm based on their pasts; the accuracy factor won’t matter much.
2010 play was discluded until this point, to give you all a previous background of each quarterback; mainly for the reason that old trends tend to repeat. Vick now in 2010 has thrown for 6 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, a 61.5% completion percentage, and 799 yards in just 5 weeks; showing tremendous improvement from his past game. Kolb has thrown for 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, a 63.2% completion percentage, and 478 yards. They are seemingly at an equal par in play level; Vick just brings more of a veteran presence to the team
2010 thus far is telling us, it doesn't matter who starts at quarterback in Phillidelphia, but rather injuries around them that could impact the team. Either quarterback could take this team to the playoffs based on their 2010 performances thus far. Vick will take the starting role for now, but Kolb definitely has a chance to win it back.

PSAT
As I got to sleep in this morning while my schools underclassman took the PSAT, I realized most would consider this a good break. Personally I feel kinda jipped, the fact of the matter is that they will now be more prepared then I ever was when they take thier SATs. Its a great benefit to the present, but when you look at it... do they care about the students taking the test or just the numbers that become of this investment? The way we train the student in test taking, rather than supplementing the information needed to pass the assesment and the building of it in our minds. Students need knowledge reinforced, not just having it shoved down thier throats at the last second. All of our education should be taught in a way it keeps it in our long-term memory, this is the future we're talking about for petesake. Forcing students to take the PSAT sounds like a noble cause at first, but when you look at it; is it for the right reason?

Eminem
Lately it’s occurred to me, that the rise and fame of Eminem went well in the United States . What made him stand out in the “rap game”, was it the fact he fought oppression as a white man in a once proclaimed black game? To add a flare of opinion, his raps aren’t entirely about being addicted to drugs and “busting caps” into other people. Eminem adds a taste of his own life into most of the raps he makes. Some common examples are Mockingbird, When I’m Gone, and Lose Yourself. Mockingbird speaks of his divorce with Kim, and how he wanted to stop it for both of his daughters’ sake; this is a sign of a kind father who would throw it all away just to be with his children. When Im Gone, tells the tale of how his fame gets in the way of him seeing his daughter and that eats away at him inside. The music video can prove this factor as it portrays him at an Alcohol Anonymous type meeting, and when he takes the podium as the next speaker it cuts into the rap. Eminem, underneath the shell of just another cold rapper, is actually a loving father to his children. Finally his song “Lose Yourself” tells of his struggles making it as a white rapper, specifically in his “choking” on the stage and the factor it seemed to be his only option out of poverty. To get out of poverty, would also be offering his children a better life. Before we portray Eminem as just another villain with a microphone trying to corrupt today’s youth; we need to accept that not all of his songs are entirely that terrible. His Slim Shady days appear to be over, as he has seemingly matured with time; thus resulting in more mature songs such as Love the Way you Lie, and Not Afraid (Sure alot of them still mention drugs, but its almost certain, that the ones with good morals balance that out) Besides, Kanye's Worse

Ladanian Tomlinson
A guaranteed write in for the NFL Hall of Fame, Running Back Ladanian Tomlinson was determined rusty by the San Diego Chargers at the end of the 2009 season and he was placed on free agency. Tomlinson, during his stay with the Chargers had the best year of his career in 2006 where he rushed for 1,815 yards in 348 carries (9.1 average yards per carry) with a total of 28 touchdowns. Tomlinson was king of the world in 06, and a threat to all defensive coordinators around the league. His slide began in 2008, and came to a crashing halt in 2009 where he only managed to rush for 730 yards in 223 carries (3.3 average yards per carry) with just 12 touchdowns accredited to him. Could the release of Tomlinson have had anything to do with the factor that he never managed to carry them to a Super Bowl? Records show that even in the far depths of the playoffs, the Chargers were so built around Tomlinson the slightest injury at the wrong time would pull them down. Certainty the gradual decrease in rushing yards would make him appear to be a fallen star with not much left to give. Before signing with the Jets, Tomlinson’s had rushed enough to rank eighth on the NFL's career rushing list with 12,490 yards. In his few weeks with the Jets, he is making the Chargers eat their doubts as he has already rushed for 435 yards in 76 carries (5.3 average yards per carry) with 3 touchdowns; all in just 5 weeks. This feat is even more impressive, considering he is sharing carries with the Jets prospect running back Shonn Green. Tomlinson was looking for a team that aspired to run all the way to the Super Bowl, and Coach Rex Ryan offers him just that attitude. His Honor is respectable in not lusting revenge on the Chargers; like a certain Vikings quarterback to the Packers. Can the Jets win a Super Bowl in the Tomlinson-Greene era? Only time will tell that tale.
