PSAT

As I got to sleep in this morning while my schools underclassman took the PSAT, I realized most would consider this a good break. Personally I feel kinda jipped, the fact of the matter is that they will now be more prepared then I ever was when they take thier SATs. Its a great benefit to the present, but when you look at it... do they care about the students taking the test or just the numbers that become of this investment? The way we train the student in test taking, rather than supplementing the information needed to pass the assesment and the building of it in our minds. Students need knowledge reinforced, not just having it shoved down thier throats at the last second. All of our education should be taught in a way it keeps it in our long-term memory, this is the future we're talking about for petesake. Forcing students to take the PSAT sounds like a noble  cause at first, but when you look at it; is it for the right reason?
